Can I download a YouTube video from a link with ChordGrab?
No. ChordGrab does not give you the video or an audio file; it reads the link, analyses the audio on our servers and hands you the guitar chords, lyrics and a play-along instead. If you searched for a YouTube link downloader because you wanted to learn the song, this is the shorter route.
What happens when I paste a YouTube link?
The app fetches the audio, runs chord detection over it and has an AI model name the song and check the result. About a minute later you get a chord sheet with each chord above the word it lands on, chord diagrams and a scrolling play-along that follows the recording.
Which YouTube links work?
Ordinary videos, Shorts and youtu.be share links all work, and so do covers, live versions and self-written songs, which is where hand-written chord sites usually have nothing. TikTok and Instagram links are not supported yet.
Why not just download the video and work the chords out?
Because working chords out by ear is the slow part, not the download, and downloading a video you do not own breaks YouTube's terms. ChordGrab keeps the audio only for as long as it takes to analyse it and stores the chords, not the recording.
